Managing Partner

Tim James

Tim’s career spans across the public and private sectors. Apart from his role as Managing Partner at Elevate, Tim is Enterprise Head of Funds Transfer at State Street Bank, which is a globally significant financial institution with $42 trillion USD in assets under custody, administration, and management. Funds transfer is a sequence of activities that result in the movement of funds from the remitter to the beneficiary and from one party to itself or to another party through the banking system. It is inclusive of all steps from transaction initiation to payment processing. With $42 trillion in assets under custody, administration, and management, State Street is responsible for overseeing the movement of 15% of planetary wealth.

Prior to this role, Tim was head of consultant relations across North America, where he was responsible for growing strategic relationships with some of the world’s top consultancy firms. He previously played a key role in State Street’s market entry strategy for South and Central America. In this role, he personally conducted strategic analysis and drafted a strategy for market entry into several nations.

His earlier stints at State Street included serving as the Global Business Continuity Director for the Compliance Department and Global Program Manager for the enterprise Compliance Program. Prior to joining State Street, Tim worked as a program manager for the United States Air Force, where he managed a $1.9 billion USD systems engineering contract. He was often asked to brief top executives at the Pentagon. He began his career as an intern in the office of Newton Mayor, Setti Warren.

In 2022, Tim was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar. The prestigious program brings together bold and principled leaders to hone their leadership abilities through interactions with former presidents, key administration officials, leading academics, and business and civic leaders. Through his experience in the program, Tim learned leadership lessons directly from former Presidents George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. He is currently on the alumni council for the Presidential Leadership Scholars, and maintains close relationships with high-level figures from multiple current and past presidential administrations. In the nonprofit space, Tim is Chair and CEO of the Lenny Zakim Fund (LZF). The LZF’s mission is to listen to those most impacted by inequity and provide the funding, essential resources, and support they need to create lasting change. Since its founding in 1995, the LZF has awarded over 1,600 grants and millions of dollars to grassroots organizations. On a different note, Tim is also a sought-after keynote speaker that has addressed crowds at top universities and institutions. He is represented by a professional speaking agency and enjoys teaching aspiring leaders how to improve their communication skills. He holds an Executive MBA from Brown University and IE Business School, and serves on the board of Building Impact.

Junho Suh

Junho is a visionary in the field of education consulting, with a distinguished career spanning over 16 years, dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their utmost potential. As a co-founder of Ivy Global, a leading educational company specializing in consulting and publishing, Junho played a pivotal role in its success. For more than a decade, he led Ivy Global’s consulting division.

Junho’s passion lies in impacting business executives through comprehensive education and leadership development. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from McMaster University and an Executive MBA from Brown University and IE Business School. He began his career working with renowned global entities such as DuPont Inc. and Bristol Myers Squibb before finding his true calling in the realm of education and entrepreneurship.

A true believer in the transformative power of Emotional Intelligence, Junho is devoted to educating and equipping leaders in its understanding and practical application. James Suh

In addition to being a Managing Partner of Elevate, he is also a serial entrepreneur who constantly pushes the boundary of Art, Design and Technology.

James empowers Asia’s foremost category-leading brands to establish a global presence through innovative and bold creative solutions and insights, with a particular focus on the North American market. This includes role in the past as a Chief Marketing Officer, turning a local self-waxing Korean Beauty brand “Zizuss” into a category leader in less than six months of joining. James also serves as the co-founder & CEO of cosmetic group AsthetiK, with the brand Gache (gachebeauty.com) slated for launch in the fall of 2023.

James’ creative works in the form of television commercials, documentary and prints are seen across Asia and beyond. His recent creative work as a creative director includes featuring Asia’s first Volumetric Technique with a real-time virtual video production on a Metaverse Platform “SK Ifland.” The project “Meta Hongdae Music Tour” showcases the most sought-after K-pop artists in an interactive music concert within the metaverse environment. This project later received accreditation as the most successful metaverse project launch in 2022 by Ifland.

James’ has over a decade of experience in working with some of the notable figures in the entertainment world. He has personally directed K-pop music videos using cutting-edge technology such as real-time virtual production & volumetric capture technology for artists like pH-1, Sunwoo Jung-Ah, 10cm, Kim Jae Whan, Car the garden & YB Band. In 2016, James was the first in South Korea to produce 4K content starring renown K-pop group “Big Bang” in a UHD documentary titled “Big Bang MADE” for national broadcast on a public television.

Not only does James’ creative work is seen in the world of entertainment but most noticeable in the creative advertising space. His creative works as the creative director at a global advertising agency includes clients like IKEA, EA Sports, Mars Inc. and Hotels.com Moreover, his creative experience span in overseeing production for television commercial & global promo films as a producer for global brands like New Balance, Samsung Display & many more.

James has amassed invaluable insights and knowledge on how multinational firms, artists, and designers cultivate and refine creative thinking work process. He directed and produced feature-length documentaries on the subjects of design and emotional marketing for Samsung Electronics’ Global Marketing team and the Samsung Design Group. Spanning 11 different countries, these documentaries feature personal interviews with marketing gurus, futurologists, designers, leading researchers, professors, CEOs, and executives at corporate headquarters including Airbus, Absolut Vodka, GE Plastics, GE Aviation, IDEO, L’Oreal, LEGO, MIT Media Lab, Patek Philippe, Samsung Design America, SHR Perceptual Management, and many others.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, James holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and Brown University. Outside his business pursuits, he is an avid ice hockey player, enjoys playing golf, and practices jiu-jitsu.
